We had a good turnout for the tournament today. We had 10 teams.
The weather was nice at 50-61 degrees. Water was muddy or stained, depending on where you were fishing.
The reason we held this tournament was so that more members could catch a 2 lb. Crappie. We had 2 come very close.
Woodie and Mike Martin fished Marina Bay and caught 4 fish. Mike Martin caught a trophy Crappie weighing 2.3 lbs.
Great job, Mike!!

Woodie and Mack Mantz fished Marina Bay and caught 9 lbs 9.4 oz, but those were not counted in the tournament.
Very cold that morning. Air temp was 29 degrees when we started. The wind was light. Water temp was about 44 degrees. Water slowly warmed to about 45-46 degrees. Most of the fish were caught in Toto Creek up past the bridge on the left. The big fish was caught in Yellow Creek by the two big community docks on the right. Toto Creek water was slightly stained, but Yellow Creek was quite dirty. A lot of debris was floating in Yellow Creek and a lot of Gar seen on Live Scope. Fish were in the 8-10 foot range, schooling up, not necessarily around any structure, just roaming around. Found schools with Live Scope and casted jigs out to them. ATX D2D was the best jig.

2nd Place 1 lb 5.0 oz Randy Koch & Kirby Burt
BIG FISH:
1st Place 1 lb 5.4 oz Dale Burrell

3rd Place 1 lb 8.8 oz Dale Burrell
We have 4 teams and 10 members who caught only 2 Crappie. Water temp was 49 degrees; air temp was cold at 31-47 degrees.
Fish were not under docks nor over brush piles. Most Crappie were nowhere to be found. A cold front was moving in and not much wind. Water was muddy and a lot of debris in the water. It was a great day to stay home in front of a fire.
Special mention: Dale and Rick both got into the 49 degree water to push off their grounded boat just so Bill could get back to the weigh-in and get his first pin for total weight.
